Ready for the festival of the country
At exactly 8 am, Mr. Nguyen Kim Binh - Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Election Team No. 29, Election Unit No. 6, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward, Hanoi city was present at Kim Lien communal house, welcoming people to check voter lists and learn about election information.
Kim Lien communal house is one of the "Thang Long Tu Tran" from the reign of King Ly Thai To, chosen as the location to place the polling area to elect National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council Deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term.
Here, facilities and necessary safety conditions have been inspected and fully prepared, ready for the country festival. The voting area is solemnly decorated with flags, flowers, and prominent banners, creating a joyful and solemn atmosphere before the election day.
Voter lists are publicly posted in the polling area. Documents introducing the election and candidate lists are also neatly arranged on the table, convenient for people to come and follow and learn.

Previously, members of the election team also divided up and spread out throughout the alleys and hamlets in the residential group to issue voter cards to people.
In a bag full of voter cards and candidate lists, members of the election team knocked on each door one by one. Some households took the opportunity to ask again about the time and location of the vote; some people suggested checking to see if their names were recorded in the voter list or not?
We deploy quickly, going to each house to specifically review. Households with people staying at home, households with people going on long-term business trips, are all recorded, then reported to the local police to eliminate cases of absence from the actual list on election day, helping voting take place quickly and conveniently," Mr. Binh said.
For the elderly, we will bring the ballot boxes to their homes.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh - Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward Election Committee said that immediately after implementing the 2-level local government model, the ward urgently deployed preparations for the election.
The Party Committee and government of the ward determined that this is an important political task of 2026, so the preparation work is continuously and methodically deployed. Every week, the Steering Committee and the Ward Election Committee organize meetings to review and assign specific tasks to each department.
Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward has a very large number of voters. Up to now, the whole ward has about 85,000 voters, arranged in 32 polling areas, belonging to 6 constituencies.
After organizing the 2-level government model, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward is an area with relatively difficult infrastructure conditions, the number of community activity houses meeting the standards to organize polling stations is still limited. Therefore, the ward must take advantage of and borrow more religious establishments to arrange polling stations to serve people.
Like Kim Lien communal house, it was chosen as a voting place; this is one of two particularly important national relics in the area.
Organizing a polling station at this sacred location not only creates a solemn atmosphere for election day, but is also associated with the familiar religious life of people in the area. At the same time, promoting the value of historical and cultural relics in the area, helping people understand more about the traditions of the nation.

There are only two days left until the election day, basically the preparation for facilities has been completed. We also commit to the city that tomorrow the decoration and completion of the polling stations will be completed, ready to welcome the festival of the whole people," Mr. Binh said.
In addition, the ward also pays special attention to supporting policy beneficiaries, the elderly and people facing difficulties in traveling.
According to Mr. Binh, each constituency has 21 members, the Election Commission has 15 members; of which, 2-3 members are arranged, including the Women's Union, Youth Union, and Veterans Association, to participate in supporting and helping the elderly, people with limited mobility, or those facing difficulties in moving.
We clearly assign tasks in each constituency to ensure that all voters fully exercise their civil rights and obligations," Mr. Binh said.
Along with that, plans for security and order, fire prevention and fighting have also been built and carefully prepared. For cases of elderly voters, weak health or unable to directly go to the polling station, the ward also prepares auxiliary ballot boxes to bring to the place, creating conditions for people to exercise their voting rights and obligations in accordance with regulations.
