On August 9, Mr. Nguyen Tuong - Deputy Director in charge of the Institute of Construction Planning said that the Department of Finance has requested the People's Committee of Hue City to request the Department of Construction to direct the Institute of Construction Planning to urgently repair and reinstall the entire system of doors, partitions, ceilings, electricity, internet, phones, sanitary equipment... at headquarters I25, I26, I27 of the new urban area of Southeast Thuy An (An Cuu ward), ensuring the return of assets to their original state at the time of handover. The refund date is before August 25, 2025.
The Department of Construction is also assigned to preside over the review, propose handling of responsibilities of related organizations and individuals and report to the City People's Committee before August 15, 2025.
Previously, the Institute of Construction Planning reported: In early July 2024, through inspection of the current status of the public headquarters, the unit discovered that some easily demolished doors had been stolen. The Institute has proposed installing cameras and hiring security guards, but cannot implement it due to location conditions, regional security and concerns about personal safety. After that, the Institute dismantled the remaining doors and brought them back to keep at the unit. There are currently 4 entrances, 9 windows, 2 breeze blades made of iron glass and 5 iron exterior frames.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, the real estate building at lot I25'I26'I27 (Hue City), built in 2009 and once managed by the Urban Development Project Management Board, was handed over by the Provincial People's Committee to the Institute of Construction Planning (Department of Construction) in February 2023 in good condition. However, after only 2 and a half years, the project fell into a state of serious damage, destruction, and devastation.
Mr. Nguyen Tuong admitted that there were shortcomings in management, failure to promptly report the theft and the dismantling and storage of assets. He said he will follow the request of the Department of Finance and use personal funds to repair and compensate for the loss.
