From the "rugged words" to the "work from the heart
People are happy when the embankment and roads are wide, goods are transported to the National Highway, students go to school, and people go to the Health Station conveniently and safely. These are the actual feelings of people in An Thai hamlet, An Cu commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province (now An Thai hamlet, Hoi Cu commune, Dong Thap province) after the Dong Kenh 8 embankment project was upgraded. The project is sponsored by VietinBank with a 2-stage cost of nearly 20 billion VND.

An Thai hamlet has more than 1000 households living there. The 1.5m wide weir road along the Kinh 8 river in the locality, which was put into use nearly 30 years ago, is now seriously degraded. "Sunny days are like that, rainy days are even more difficult, students are very bumpy every time they go to school. Coming to the Health Station for medical examination and treatment, and transporting goods are also facing many difficulties," said Mr. Do Nhut Thanh, Vice Chairman of Hoi Cu Commune People's Committee.
Having a child who is a high school student, often returning home at night, Mr. Nguyen Lam Tung is very worried when his child participates in traffic. He said that his son had slipped and fallen many times in this embankment area. This situation is similar to Mr. Tran Trung Nghia - a local worker who often ends his working day late in the evening.

After the embankment was renovated, the leader of Hoi Cu commune could not hide his excitement: "Since the longitudinal embankment project, people have been very happy. The 1.5m road, from the current state of damage and risk of subsidence, has now been widened to 4m, the sidewalk is 2.75m wide, with a complete drainage project, allowing 4-wheeled vehicles to circulate, ensuring safety.
In Ma O village, Khanh Hoa, on the morning of May 21, 2025, many people came to celebrate with Mr. Mau Chanh's family - a near-poor household in the village receiving a new house. His family is 1 of 83 households to be given a new house by VietinBank. Mr. Chanh emotionally shared: "These past few days, my family has been overjoyed. The dream of a solid house that seemed distant has now come true, thanks to the concern of the Party, State and VietinBank.
This is the result of implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" with the companionship of VietinBank and Khanh Hoa province. Mr. Cat Quang Duong - Member of VietinBank's Board of Directors said: VietinBank supported nearly 5 billion VND to build 83 housing projects for poor and near-poor households in Khanh Hoa province. VietinBank determines that this is a meaningful and practical activity, improving the material and spiritual life of people.

New houses and upgraded roads are "works from the heart", of great significance to the people of Hoi Cu, Ma O... opening the way for future livelihoods.
VietinBank accompanies the community
Lack of ambulances, non-synchronous medical equipment on vehicles; pressure from a large area, complex terrain... make the health sector of old Binh Phuoc province, now Dong Nai province, face difficulties for many years. Ms. Do Thi Nguyen - Director of Dong Nai Department of Health said: "The number of vehicles and equipment is limited, many remote medical points such as Bu Dang, Bu Gia Map do not have enough specialized vehicles to meet the emergency needs of many patients at the same time. Old vehicles are often damaged, not ensuring safety and speed.
Grasping this difficulty, in 2025 VietinBank donated specialized ambulances to the Dong Nai Provincial Health sector. Previously, in 2021, VietinBank donated 03 high-quality specialized ambulances to this locality. This helps solve pressure for many grassroots health units, eliminating the situation of patients having to wait for ambulances to rotate and becoming more autonomous in vehicle allocation.

Appreciating VietinBank's timely support, leaders of Dong Nai Department of Health said: "VietinBank's support has energized the local health system in performing the task of protecting and caring for people's health; helping to improve the rate of patient survival and strengthen people's trust in public health services.

In 2025, VietinBank actively accompanies people and localities affected by storms and floods, natural disasters. VietinBank has supported through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front 30 billion VND and directly supported localities in Thai Nguyen, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Dien Bien, Ninh Binh, Hue, Da Nang,... The total cost of supporting the recovery from storms and floods is up to 70 billion VND.
