On August 15, the Provisional Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains, Vinh Long Provincial Military Command continued to discover and repatriate 2 more sets of martyrs' remains in the temporary cemetery area of Nhuan Phu Tan commune.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huyen Vi - Head of the Provisional Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains, after 13 days of implementation, the unit has discovered and repatriated 34 sets of martyrs' remains in the temporary cemetery area.
The remains were discovered during the process of the force organizing searches and excavations in each area, ensuring caution and proper procedures. After detection, the remains are collected and preserved to serve the verification and appraisal work.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huyen Vi said that according to the plan, the team will continue to search and excavate in the temporary cemetery area and locations with related information, with the determination to search for and fully repatriate the remains of martyrs.
Although the weather in recent days has been rainy, affecting the progress of excavation, but with deep gratitude and appreciation for the heroic martyrs, officers and soldiers always strive to overcome difficulties to complete the task," Lieutenant Colonel Vi said.
The search and repatriation work is being deployed urgently and cautiously, contributing to the implementation of the "500 Days and Nights" Campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains, showing responsibility and the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source" towards heroic martyrs.
