On June 30, Road Management Zone IV organized a ceremony to hand over the original state of Vam Cong Ferry Cluster to Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee for management according to Decision No. 874/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2026 of the Prime Minister.
Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son, Deputy Director of Vietnam Road Administration Nguyen Thanh Vinh, along with leaders of Road Management Zone IV, Department of Construction and related units.
According to the decision, Vam Cong Ferry Cluster is transferred in its original state from Road Management Zone IV under the Vietnam Road Administration, Ministry of Construction to Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee for management, serving the requirements of decentralization and delegation of power in traffic infrastructure management.
Over 25 years of operation, Vam Cong Ferry Cluster has played an important role in connecting inter-regional traffic, serving travel needs, transporting goods and promoting socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta region.
In the first 6 months of 2026 alone, ferry terminals belonging to the cluster have carried out about 176,000 trips, serving safely millions of people and vehicles crossing the river, contributing to ensuring traffic on key national highways.
According to the transfer plan, all 325 officials, employees, along with assets, vehicles, technical records, finance, party organizations and mass organizations will be handed over in their original state to maintain stable operations.

Representatives of the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Construction said that they will closely coordinate with relevant agencies and units to ensure the continuous, safe, and effective operation of the Vam Cong Ferry Cluster, and at the same time fully implement the regime for officials and employees.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son emphasized that the reception of Vam Cong Ferry Cluster is of great significance after arranging administrative units, and at the same time acknowledged the contributions of the units in ensuring regional traffic.
Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Construction and related units to receive and manage in accordance with regulations, ensure the rights of workers, and not interrupt operations serving the people; and at the same time, gradually study investment and upgrade infrastructure and vehicles to improve service quality.
