On July 18, the Dak Lak Province Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue and Forest Protection Management Center (Dak Lak Elephant Conservation Center) said that the unit had just recorded an elephant death in the forest.
According to initial information, on the morning of July 17, people discovered an elephant named bak Kham dead in the forest in Dak Lieng commune, Dak Lak province.
After receiving the report, the Dak Lak Elephant Conservation Center coordinated to check the scene and clarify the cause. Thereby, it was determined that the elephant in Bac Kham died, suspected to be caused by a male elephant nearby falling off a chain, falling and being stung by a tree.
After making a record of the incident, the Dak Lak Elephant Conservation Center handed over the elephant to the elephant owner for burial procedures. The elephant carcass was brought to be buried at Jon Nong cemetery, Cuor village, Lien Son Lak commune.
Thus, according to statistics from the Dak Lak Elephant Conservation Center, the whole province currently has 33 domestic elephants. Currently, most elephants in Dak Lak province are past the age of reproduction.
