On the afternoon of October 2, a representative of Children's Hospital 1 (District 10) informed the press about the health condition of baby T.K - the victim suspected of being abused by his biological father as reported by Lao Dong.
Accordingly, Children's Hospital 1 said that at 1:00 p.m. on September 28, they received a case of baby T.K. suspected of being abused. Immediately after being admitted, the boy received intensive treatment at Children's Hospital 1.
According to the hospital, T.K.’s grandmother received a report from the local police that her grandchild had been splashed with boiling water on his legs by his father, for unknown reasons. Immediately afterwards, T.K.’s grandmother took him to the Children’s Hospital 1 for examination and admission.
Baby K is now awake, has warm limbs, clear pulse, continuous high fever, coughs a lot, skin peeling from burns, white dead skin, dark and smelly, mild edema; located on both legs, burn area of left leg 7%, right leg 5%; lung damage, high liver enzymes.
The doctor diagnosed T.K with 12% second-third degree boiling water burns, burn wound infection, sepsis, liver damage and collapsed lung.
The baby is currently in the Emergency Room of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Department, Children's Hospital 1, receiving active treatment with antibiotics, intravenous fluids, blood transfusions, and burn care.
“Currently, the patient's fever has reduced, he can eat and drink, his urine is yellow, 1,600ml/day, and he still coughs a lot. For further treatment, the hospital will use antibiotics according to the antibiotic chart, care for the burn wound, and do physical therapy exercises,” informed a hospital representative.
In addition, Children's Hospital 1 has also actively coordinated with the police to investigate the above incident.
