On the afternoon of July 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Kong Bo La commune (Gia Lai province) said that he had assigned the Party Committee to report to the superior agency and had not temporarily appointed Mr. Nguyen Dang Chung (former Chairman of the People's Committee of the old Dong Commune) to the position of Deputy Director of the Kong Bo La Commune Public Administration Service Center.
According to Mr. Dung, the local government has no policy to allow the cutting of trees in the premises of the Commune People's Committee headquarters.
The tree cutting by Mr. Nguyen Dang Chung is not in accordance with regulations, while a series of trees are considered public assets, if they want to sell and liquidate state assets, they must follow the correct legal procedures.

"The Kong Bo La Commune Party Committee has directed the Commune Party Committee's Inspection Committee to conduct an inspection and clarify the incident. If violations are discovered, they will be strictly handled, not allowing the incident to cause public outrage," Mr. Nguyen Van Dung informed.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at the time of merging the commune-level administrative apparatus, the headquarters of Dong commune (old Kbang district, now Kong Bo La commune) had 17 trees with a diameter of 2550 cm cut down.
Through inspection, it was determined that Mr. Nguyen Dang Chung - former Chairman of Dong Commune People's Committee was the one who was mainly responsible for the sagging and selling of the trees.
The Party Committee of Kong Bo La commune, Gia Lai province is continuing to clarify the responsibilities of related individuals and organizations.
