On the morning of February 14, Quang Tri province held a military handover ceremony, but two days before, rookie Le Thi Thao Nhi (born in 2002, residing in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province) left to join the army at Regiment 692, Hanoi Capital Command.
The day Thao Nhi left, she was absent-mindedly staring at her mother, her brother in a soldier's shirt and promised to complete her mission well, following in her mother and brother's footsteps.
Thao Nhi said that since childhood, she has been familiar with the image of a soldier because both her father and mother are soldiers working at the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command.

While in grade 7, Nhi's father passed away from a serious illness, her mother suffered from a long-term heart disease, causing the whole family to fall into difficult situations. Feeling sorry for her mother, Nhi and her brother tried their best to study and always achieved good results.
After that, Nhi's brother, Le Duc Hung, passed the entrance exam to the Engineering Officer School, currently holding the position of Deputy Captain, Engineering Company, Staff Department, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command.
Nhi, after graduating from high school, majored in Accounting, Faculty of Economics, Da Nang University of Architecture. After 4 years of studying, I initially planned to apply for a job in the right training profession. But then, thinking about her deceased father and his love for military uniforms, he asked his mother's opinion on military service.
Nhi's mother is Major Nguyen Thi Ha, a military medical officer, Staff Department, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command. Major Ha said he was very happy and proud to hear his daughter's intention to join the army. The female Major instructed her daughter to write a volunteer application for military service, and was even happier when she received the news that Nhi had been recruited for military service.
"I hope my daughter promotes family traditions and tries hard to practice to adapt to the new environment" - Major Ha shared.
Before leaving for the capital, Thao Nhi shared that being in the military environment was a great honor. "I will try my best to study and practice so as not to disappoint my family's expectations and contribute a part of my youth to build my hometown" - Thao Nhi said.
