Phu Yen - A couple riding a motorbike were hit by a train and died on the spot while trying to cross the level crossing with a railway with an automatic barrier.

On the morning of June 12, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Minh Giac - Chairman of the People's Committee of An Phu Commune (Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen) confirmed that a traffic accident had just occurred in the area between a train and a motorbike, causing the couple to die on the spot.

"The road intersects with the railway with an automatic barrier, but the couple tried to cross the barrier, leading to a tragic incident," said Mr. Giac.

According to initial information, at about 7:15 a.m. the same day, on the residential road in Chinh Nghia village (An Phu commune), the SE7 train running in the North - South direction, driven by Mr. Pham Huu Anh Khoa (born in 1993, residing in Da Nang city) collided with a motorbike with license plate 79F6-2402.

At the time of the accident, the motorbike driven by Mr. Cao Quang Le Hoang V (born in 1976, residing in Tuy Hoa City), carrying his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu S (born in 1984, residing in Khanh Hoa Province) was traveling in the West - East direction, crossing the railway.

The strong collision caused both husband and wife to die on the spot. The motorbike was broken in half, completely damaged, and caused property damage of about 3 million VND.

The case is currently being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
