At noon on June 11, the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Dinh province said that after the tropical depression strengthened into storm No. 1 - Wutip, the unit urgently counted the number of ships operating at sea, in order to promptly notify fishermen to proactively avoid and move out of the danger zone.
"According to the forecast, storm No. 1 is likely to move to the North, causing heavy rain in the provinces from Quang Ngai to Quang Binh. Binh Dinh currently has very little rain, not significantly," he said.
According to the Standing Office for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Binh Dinh province, there are currently 40 fishing boats of Binh Dinh fishermen in the storm-affected area. Of which, Quy Nhon city has 7 ships and Hoai Nhon town has 33 ships.
Through the counting, the whole province has 5,988 fishing vessels with 41,916 workers operating along the coast in the province, anchored at wharves and participated in fishing in fishing grounds from Nghe An to Kien Giang, the sea area from Hoang Sa to the North East Sea, the sea area between Hoang Sa - Truong Sa and the Truong Sa archipelago.
On the same day, speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of the Irrigation Sub-Department, Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Yen province said that the path of storm No. 1 is moving northwest, so it does not cause significant impacts on the province. The amount of rain recorded in the area is also very low.
"The province has urgently notified ships operating at sea to grasp information and the path of the storm to proactively take shelter and not enter the danger zone," he informed.
According to the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Phu Yen province, as of the afternoon of June 10, the whole province had 2,985 fishing vessels with a total of 13,432 workers.
Of these, there are 299 fishing vessels with 1,637 workers operating at sea. There are 92 fishing vessels (418 workers) operating near the shore, in coastal areas from Binh Dinh to Ba Ria - Vung Tau; 61 fishing vessels (345 workers) are operating offshore in the Truong Sa archipelago.

Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on June 11, the center of storm No. 1 was at about 16.3 degrees north latitude; 113.4 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 8 (62-74km/h), gusting to level 10. The storm is moving west-northwest at a speed of about 10km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, storm No. 1 will move in the West Northwest direction at a speed of 10-15km/h and is likely to strengthen.
At 10:00 on June 12, the center of storm No. 1 was at about 17 degrees north latitude - 110.5 degrees east longitude; in the area west of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 9, gusting to level 11.
The dangerous area in the next 24 hours will be at about 15 - 18.5 degrees north latitude; 109 - 115 degrees east longitude.
The risk level of natural disasters at sea is level 3 in the western part of the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa archipelago), the offshore waters from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, storm No. 1 will move north-northeast at a speed of 10km/h.
At 10:00 on June 13, the center of storm No. 1 was at about 18.7 degrees north latitude - 109.6 degrees east longitude; in the area south of Hainan Island (China). The strongest wind near the storm center is level 10, gusting to level 13.
The dangerous area in the next 48 hours will be at about 15.5 - 20.5 degrees north latitude; 108 - 113 degrees east longitude.
The risk level of natural disasters at sea is level 3 in the western part of the North East Sea (including the western part of the West of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the offshore waters from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, the waters east of the Gulf of Tonkin.
