Flood discharge from Dong Mo Lake affects 14 communes and wards

Hanoi - From tomorrow (8.19), Dong Mo Lake will open 4 floodgates, many communes and wards are expected to be affected.

According to Song Tich Irrigation Company Limited, based on the forecast of the Central Hydrometeorological Station and the Northern Delta and Midlands, there will continue to be rain in the coming days. The Dong Mo reservoir basin is likely to experience heavy rain, the amount of water flowing into the lake will continue to increase.

To ensure natural disaster prevention and control, the safety of dam works, as well as serving production and people's lives, the company will regulate the water level of Dong Mo Lake, operate the opening of 4 floodgates of Ngai Son from 8:00 a.m. on August 19, with each valve opening from 1015 cm, the expected discharge flow is about 2538 m3/s.

When operating the Dai Son floodgates, it is expected to affect 14 communes and wards along the Tich River, including: Son Tay, Tung Thien, Duong Phuong, Phuc Tho, Thach That, Ha Bang, Thach Xa, Kieu Phu, Phu Cat, Phu Nghia, Xuan Mai, Tran Phu, Hoa Phu and Quang Bi.

Song Tich Irrigation Company Limited requested the People's Committees of the above 14 communes and wards to promptly notify agencies, units and people about the operation of flood discharge at Dong Mo Lake. Therefore, be proactive in production, business and daily life, in order to minimize possible damage that may occur during the operation of the project.
