On September 12, Mang Ri Commune People's Committee had a report proposing to Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee about the damage caused by storms and floods in the area.
From August 20 to September 4, in Mang Ri commune, many households were affected and damaged by storms and floods, mainly roof blowouts, cracks, and collapsed walls.
The traffic road system in many places is damaged, landslides of thousands of cubic meters of soil and rock, threatening the lives of people traveling, especially dangerous in the context of the complicated storm situation.
To promptly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize people's lives, Mr. Pham Xuan Quang - Chairman of Mang Ri Commune People's Committee proposed that the province prioritize allocating funds to implement population arrangement and stabilization in areas at high risk of landslides, especially the residential area of Ba Khen village.
The commune requested the province to support funding to repair traffic, irrigation, schools, cultural works and other essential works damaged by storms and floods. The initial cost of repair is about more than 17,640 million VND.
The commune also proposed to pay attention to overcoming damage in agricultural production and animal husbandry, contributing to helping people soon stabilize their lives and restore production.
In particular, people in areas growing Ngoc Linh ginseng at the foot of the mountain are affected. For many years, ginseng has been considered the main livelihood, helping people rise out of poverty. However, storms have damaged the area of trees of many households.
