Phu Giao commune has the largest area in Binh Duong province
The People's Council of Binh Duong province has approved a project to reorganize 91 current administrative units into 36 new communes and wards.
Phu Giao district is a locality in the North of Binh Duong province. This is one of the districts with the largest area in the province, bordering Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces. Phu Giao district has 11 commune-level administrative units. After the arrangement, this locality established 4 new communes.
In which, An Long commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of An Linh commune, An Long commune, Tan Long commune. The new An Long commune has a natural area of 100.045 km2 and a population of 17,906 people.
Establish Phuoc Thanh commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of An Thai commune, Phuoc Sang commune, Tan Hiep commune. The new Phuoc Thanh commune has a natural area of 123.494 km2 and a population of 15,803 people.
Establish Phuoc Hoa commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Vinh Hoa commune, Phuoc Hoa commune and part of Tam Lap commune (with Cay Kho and Duoi Chuot hamlets). The new Phuoc Hoa commune has a natural area of 128.067 km2 and a population of 42,470 people.
Establish Phu Giao commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of a part of Tam Lap commune (including Gia Bien and Dong Tam hamlets), the entire An Binh commune and the entire Phuoc Vinh town.
Phu Giao commune has a natural area of 192.833 km2 (reaching 642.78% of the regulations), population of 42,739 people (reaching 267.12% of the regulations). This is the commune-level administrative unit with the largest area in Binh Duong province after the reorganization.
Phu Giao commune will develop industry in the future
According to records, the land area of Phu Giao commune is currently mainly focused on agricultural development. People make a living by growing rubber, banana, orange, grapefruit, melon... According to the development orientation, Phu Giao will gradually convert part of the agricultural land area to industrial development.
Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that Phu Giao is planned to allocate industrial zones for development. Binh Duong province has approved the development plan for 4 industrial parks with a total area of 2,800 hectares, including: Vinh Lap industrial park in Tam Lap commune, 750ha wide; Phu Giao 1 industrial park in An Binh commune, 550ha wide; Phu Giao 3 industrial park in An Binh and Tam Lap communes, 500ha wide; Phu Giao 4 industrial park in Tam Lap commune, Vinh Hoa commune, 1,000ha wide...
If the planning is properly implemented, Phu Giao commune will be one of the key localities for industrial development. Thereby meeting the need for clean land to gradually relocate industrial factories in the South of Binh Duong province. At the same time, continue to attract domestic and foreign investment.
