Those are raincoats, nylon bags, plastic bottles, mud scattered on the field, causing much controversy. Many viewers reflected that the experience was not good due to rain, muddy field surface, sound and lighting problems, inconvenient viewing areas, lack of trash cans. These reflections show the great responsibility of the organizers in preparing weather plans, infrastructure, environmental sanitation and ensuring an experience worthy of the money the audience spent.
Audiences have the right to demand a program that is organized professionally, safely, and civilized. But along with that right is the minimum responsibility: Not littering indiscriminately, not leaving raincoats, food, plastic cups, water bottles, nylon bags right where they stand or sit. Everyone may think that a raincoat left behind, a water bottle thrown on the ground is very small. But when thousands of people think like that, the consequence will be a public space being destroyed after a few hours of entertainment.
Going to a concert, festival, exhibition or any cultural program is also a cultural act. That culture is not only about knowing how to sing along to singers, knowing how to cheer at the right time, knowing how to buy entrance tickets, but also about knowing how to preserve the common space. A civilized audience is not only a person who enjoys art, but also a person who knows how to leave without leaving shabbiness behind.
Lack of trash cans cannot be a reason for audiences to litter anywhere. If they cannot find the nearest trash can, each person can still keep the water bottle, food package, raincoat used to put in the right place afterwards. That is not difficult, but requires awareness. And that awareness is the very real measure of public culture.
Over the years, cultural and entertainment life in major cities has developed strongly. Concerts, festivals, music festivals, and community events are increasingly attracting a large number of young people. This is a positive sign, showing that society's demand for cultural enjoyment is increasing. But when the scale of events is larger, the requirements for cultural behavior of both the organizers and the audience must also be higher.
There cannot be a professional cultural industry if after each event there is a scene of garbage covering the yard, sanitation workers having to clean up in fatigue, parks being deformed, and the surrounding community suffering inconvenience. It cannot also be called love of music, love of art if the participants themselves are indifferent to the environment where the program takes place.
Art needs audiences. The city needs vibrant cultural programs. But what is more needed is that after each fun, we still maintain kindness to the common space. Don't let music sound beautifully on stage, while under the audience's feet are garbage and indifference.
