On February 4, functional agencies are investigating a fire that occurred in a residential area in Vinh Loc commune, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to detailed information, at about 00:36 on February 4, Vinh Loc Commune Police received a fire report from the Fire and Rescue Police Team of Area 20. Immediately, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tuan - Deputy Head of the Commune Police directly commanded, grasped the incident and mobilized forces including about 15 Commune Police officers, 17 grassroots security officers performing fire prevention and fighting and rescue tasks, and 10 grassroots security officers who were patrolling to ensure security and order in the area. The force mobilized 1 mini fire truck and fire extinguishers to the scene to deploy firefighting and prevent fire from spreading.
When arriving at the scene, realizing that the fire situation was complicated, with the risk of spreading to the factory of Dong Nhat plastic packaging company (area of 480 m2), mechanical factories and adjacent households, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tuan directed the commune police force and grassroots security to quickly blockade and protect the scene. At the same time, the task force deployed search and rescue and operated 1 water pump to pump water from the fire extinguisher about 150 m from the scene, combined with 20 fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
According to records, in this area, people around often collect garbage and dry leaves to burn; besides, there are also many people who bring garbage from other places to throw away but are not collected. Therefore, the initial cause was determined to be garbage fire.
The fire did not cause any casualties. Functional forces were present in time to extinguish the fire. Currently, Vinh Loc Commune Police are still continuing to investigate and clarify the incident.
