The incident of dead animals, most of which are sick pigs, not being handled properly but released floating on the Phuoc Hoa - Dau Tieng water channel, has occurred since the beginning of 2025.
According to Southern Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited (abbreviated as Southern Irrigation Company), through patrolling and monitoring, the unit discovered many dead pigs thrown into the canal flowing down the water level K37+501. These dead pigs are stuck in a garbage net in the area of Minh Tan commune, Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province.
The dead pigs have consecutive numbers. During the floating process, the pigs began to decompose, giving off a foul smell and were stung by insects. Not only the dead pigs, but also the chickens and dogs floating on the canal.

From January 17 to January 20, 2025 alone, the Southern Irrigation Company recorded the number of dead pigs up to 300. This unit has coordinated with the locality to collect dead pigs and bury them, disinfect and disinfect them according to regulations.
According to the representative of the Southern Irrigation Company, the situation of dead animals floating on the water channel has not been completely resolved. Currently, every few days, there is a wave of dead pigs floating on the canal.
The death of animals floating on the canal risks polluting water resources, spreading diseases widely, affecting human health and life.







According to the Southern Irrigation Company, the water source of the canals and Dau Tieng lake serves daily life and industry in the provinces and cities including: Tay Ninh, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Long An and Ho Chi Minh City.
This unit has sent a document to the People's Committees of Dau Tieng, Bau Bang, Phu Giao districts of Binh Duong and the People's Committees of Chon Thanh district, Binh Phuoc province and a number of police agencies. Thereby, it is recommended that agencies pay attention and direct the review of pig farms in the area, detect and thoroughly handle the situation of throwing dead pigs into the Phuoc Hoa - Dau Tieng canal. However, this situation continues. The water source used for daily life and industry of the 5 provinces and cities is still polluted.
