On August 23, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard is still verifying information related to the phenomenon of mass fish deaths and coral broken in the Hon Bac area (Nha Phu Bay), suspected of fishing with explosives.
Previously, on August 15, a group of German tourists while diving in Hon Bac (organized by the Vietnam Underneath diving Center, Nha Trang) discovered many fish carcasses lying on the seabed.
Surrounded by hard coral reefs and broken coral reefs.
The tour guide said that the cause could have come from fishing with explosives.
Previously, on August 10 and August 16, a tourist living in Nha Trang also recorded a similar phenomenon while diving in Hon Bac and recorded a video.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - PADI diving coach with 10 years of experience, the signs of dead fish and broken coral in Hon Bac have all the characteristics of using explosives.

Shock waves from the mines caused fish to die en masse, coral broke across the road and did not trip up like when the boat's anchor hit.
Mr. Huy said that it is likely that the fishermen detonated mines but left because they encountered tourist boats and could not collect fish in time.
This behavior not only "destroys the marine ecosystem" but also endangers divers, because the shock waves in the water are spreading very strongly.
At close range, divers can have pitted orange Principles, dizziness, and even cardiovascular disorders.

Hon Bac is located in Nha Phu Bay, near many resorts and is an attractive destination for international tourists.
According to diving instructors, the use of explosives not only occurs in Hon Bac but also appears in some other deserted areas such as Hon Do, Van Phong Bay, Hon Trau NL.
