On the afternoon of July 7, the Da Nang City Food Safety Management Board issued a document requesting the People's Committee of Hoa Xuan Ward to check and clarify information from people about the phenomenon of vermicelli changing color after being purchased at Hoa Chau market.
The person who reported it was Ms. V.T.L, living on Cao Ba Dat Street (Hoa Xuan Ward, Da Nang City). At around 9:00 a.m. on July 6, her husband went to Hoa Chau market - now in Hoa Xuan ward - to buy 15,000 VND worth of fresh vermicelli to bring home for his family to eat.
After eating a portion, Mrs. L. gave the remaining vermicelli to her son. At around 9pm the same day, when they took it out, they saw many noodles that had changed color abnormally.

The next morning (July 7), the color of the noodles became darker, some of the noodles turned red. When trying to soak the vermicelli in water, Ms. L. saw the water turn dark pink.
According to Ms. L., her family often buys vermicelli at Hoa Chau market for daily use, but this is the first time they have encountered such an unusual case of vermicelli changing color.
The leftover noodles are placed in plastic baskets and stored in a dry place. She also brought the suspicious noodles to the market seller, but did not receive any response.
The Da Nang City Food Safety Management Board said it has requested the People's Committee of Hoa Xuan Ward - the competent unit managing food safety at Hoa Chau Market - to conduct an inspection and verification of the incident.
