The Thua Phia quarry in Cao Bang is causing controversy over dust and noise during its operations.According to a report sent to Lao Dong Newspaper by reader Dinh Van Phu (Hamlet 5, Chu Trinh Commune, Cao Bang City), dust from the quarry affects trees, crops and family health.
On January 11, an inspection team from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Cao Bang Province, in coordination with the City Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the People's Committee of Chu Trinh Commune and Thanh Phat Minerals and Trading Company (owner of the quarry), visited Mr. Dinh Van Phu's house to verify.
Verification results show that dust is real on the trees and crops of Mr. Dinh Van Phu. However, the cause is completely due to the activities of the Thua Phia quarry, which has not been determined. Besides the quarry, the Chu Trinh - Hong Nam route is being upgraded, and the continuous transportation of raw materials also contributes to the dust. The quarry is currently temporarily closed to repair the power line.
The inspection team requested Thanh Phat Minerals and Trading Company to immediately implement environmental protection measures to minimize dust emissions.
On January 17, the actual observations of the reporter showed that the quarry is located in a high position, with a stone storage area near the main road.The trees around the quarry area are covered in dust.
Along with the quarry, workers and vehicles transporting materials for the repair of Chu Trinh - Hong Nam road continuously cause a lot of dust.
In particular, the weather is currently dry, so every time a vehicle passes by the road, dust rises up.
