On the morning of February 11, Long An Ward Police, Tay Ninh province said they are conducting verification and investigation of information related to the clip recording the incident of a 9th grade student being assaulted after a traffic collision that is spreading on social networks, causing much public outrage.
Previously, on the afternoon of February 10, a video clip appeared on social networks, believed to be posted by the male student's mother.
According to the shared content, at about 4:47 pm on the same day, a student was driving an electric bicycle on the road when a minor collision occurred with a motorbike driven by a couple carrying a young child.
Although the cause and extent of the fault belong to which side are not clear, according to images in the video clip, after the collision, the man believed to be driving the motorbike assaulted the male student.
The video shows the student being knocked down to the road and kicked many times.
After the clip was posted, many opinions on social networks expressed outrage, saying that the act of using violence against minors is unacceptable, and requested functional agencies to soon intervene to clarify and handle according to legal regulations.
Currently, Long An Ward Police are collecting information, working with relevant parties and extracting data for verification.
