In Tien Thang commune (Hanoi), the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Thang commune on August 12 organized a conference to collect community opinions on component project 2 - investment in railway construction under the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line investment project.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Thang commune, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Tien Thang commune, informed delegates and people of Phu Da village about the investment policy, project implementation situation, planned railway route through the area and contents directly related to the residential community.
The organization of opinion collection aims to promote the people's right to mastery, creating consensus and unity in the project implementation process.
Regarding the project, people requested that the implementation process must ensure compliance with regulations, publicity, transparency, and harmony of interests of the State, people, and businesses.
At the same time, requesting functional agencies to continue to provide complete and timely information on the route direction, scope of impact, compensation and support policies, site clearance and related contents so that people can proactively coordinate and implement according to regulations.
According to the Tien Thang commune government, organizing community consultations is one of the important activities to promote democracy at the grassroots level, create social consensus and mobilize the participation of the people in the process of implementing large projects.
The consensus of the people will be an important factor contributing to the smooth and timely implementation of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project, ensuring investment efficiency and meeting development requirements in the new phase.
In Phu Dong commune, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune coordinated with Phu Dong Commune People's Committee to organize a conference to collect community opinions on the feasibility study report of component project 2 - investment in railway construction under the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line investment project.
Mr. Nguyen Duc The - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dong commune emphasized that the project will open up many new development opportunities but also directly impact planning, land, living environment and people's lives in the area.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and contributing many opinions related to the project, including policies on compensation, support, site clearance and career change for affected people.
Regarding this project, Mr. Nguyen Duc The proposed that the investor and functional agencies pay more attention to solutions to minimize environmental impacts, ensure civil infrastructure, and develop public, transparent, and practical compensation and support policies to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
The investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line section passing through Phu Dong commune has a length of 12.2 km.
The total recovered land area is about 73.24 ha, including: Agricultural land about 53.45 ha; rural residential land about 3.72 ha; traffic land 8.06 ha; religious land 0.30 ha; cemetery land 1.10 ha; and about 6.61 ha of other types of land.
According to Phu Dong Commune People's Committee, the compensation, support, and resettlement project through the commune has a total investment of over 3,290 billion VND, implemented in the period 2026 - 2027.
Meanwhile, in Thuan An commune, the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line section passing through the area is about 4.1 km long. The total planned land area to be recovered is about 14 hectares.
