On the morning of February 7, a traffic accident between a tractor-trailer and a refrigerated truck on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway, passing through Song Luy commune, Khanh Hoa province, caused traffic congestion from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang lasting more than 2 km.
According to initial information from the unit managing the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway, at about 10:30 am on the same day, two vehicles traveling in the same South - North direction on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway.
When reaching Km56, the section passing through Song Luy commune (Khanh Hoa province), the two cars suddenly collided.

The collision caused the refrigerated truck carrying seafood to overturn, and fish was scattered on the road surface. The tractor-trailer was damaged, lying blocking part of the lane, causing serious obstruction to traffic on the route.
According to functional forces, the accident has not recorded any casualties. However, the incident caused prolonged traffic jams for vehicles traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang.
To reduce congestion, vehicles traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to the North are instructed to leave the expressway at the Ma Lam intersection, move along National Highway 28, then connect to National Highway 1 through Ham Thuan Bac district (old).
Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway is more than 78 km long, belonging to the North - South expressway in the East through Khanh Hoa province, put into operation from April 2024. The route has a scale of 4 lanes, a road surface width of 17 m, a maximum speed of 90 km/h, with a total investment of more than 8,900 billion VND.
From 2025 to now, this expressway has recorded many traffic incidents, including truck and passenger car fires, the main cause identified as vehicles encountering technical problems when operating at high speeds.
