The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized that national unity is a precious tradition of our nation, a strategic line, a "red thread" throughout the revolutionary leadership process of our Party; a decisive factor in all victories of the cause of building, protecting and developing the country.
Through congresses, especially through 40 years of Doi Moi, our Party's viewpoint on promoting the strength of the people, promoting the strength of great national unity is increasingly deeply and comprehensively expressed.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also emphasized taking the satisfaction and trust of the people, businesses and work efficiency as criteria for evaluating officials.
The documents of the 14th Party Congress continue to affirm and deepen the central role and subjective role of the people in implementing the country's development goals to 2030, realizing the vision to 2045 and the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous country. In which, the viewpoint of promoting the strength of great national unity is expressed throughout the documents of the 14th Party Congress.
First, the viewpoint "The people are the root", the people are the subject, the center, the goal, the driving force of development. All guidelines and policies of the Party and State must truly originate from the needs, aspirations, legitimate and lawful rights and interests of the people.
It is necessary to aim to improve the material and spiritual life of the people; taking the respect, guarantee, and protection of human rights, citizens' rights, happiness and satisfaction of the people as a measure and striving goal.
Second, the viewpoint "the people are masters, the people are masters". To ensure the people's right to mastery, it is necessary to build and improve mechanisms and policies to effectively implement the people's right to mastery, implement the law on democracy at the grassroots level and the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise, people benefit".
Promote the people's right to mastery in all areas of social life. Fully implement direct democracy, representative democracy, especially grassroots democracy; fight against manifestations of formal democracy.
Promoting democracy in parallel with strengthening responsibility, social order and discipline; strengthening social consensus associated with promoting the sense of responsibility of citizens; strictly handling acts of violating the people's right to mastery, taking advantage of democracy to oppose the Party and State, causing socio-political instability, dividing the great national unity bloc, and infringing upon the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of organizations and individuals.
Third, consolidate the great national unity bloc. Implement the great national unity on the foundation of the alliance between the working class, the peasant class and the intellectual team led by the Party; harmoniously resolve the relationship of interests; ensure fairness and equality between ethnic groups, classes, social strata and each citizen in accessing opportunities and enjoying development achievements.
The Resolution of the 14th Party Congress has set out directions and tasks to consolidate the great national unity bloc.
In which, building the Vietnam Fatherland Front to truly be a political alliance, a voluntary union of political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations and typical individuals in all classes, social strata, ethnic groups, religions and overseas Vietnamese.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front, together with socio-political organizations, acts as the core for the people to exercise their right to mastery, implement supervision, social criticism, and contribute opinions to build the Party and build the government.
Building a modern Vietnamese working class, strong in both quantity and quality, with firm political bravery, class-awareness, national pride and self-esteem, truly a class leading the revolutionary cause through the vanguard team of the Communist Party of Vietnam".
To date, our country's workers have more than 15 million people, accounting for about 15% of the population, 29% of the social labor force, creating nearly 70% of the total value of social products.
After nearly 40 years of renovation, the Vietnamese working class has had strong development in quantity and quality, initially forming a team of intellectual workers, skilled and highly skilled, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the country.
