On the morning of November 24, the Traffic Police and Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Tay Ninh Province Police coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway Management Unit to investigate the cause of the passenger bus fire that occurred in the early morning of the same day.
According to initial information, at about 2:40 a.m., a passenger bus with license plate 94B-004.xx driven by driver Ng.T.A.M (born in 1987; residing in Ca Mau province) was traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, from the West to Ho Chi Minh City. When arriving at Km37+600, in Long An ward, Tay Ninh province, passengers discovered an unusual burning smell and reported it to the driver.
The driver immediately put the car in the emergency lane for inspection and discovered a fire rising from the engine room area on the steering side, so he quickly asked 10 passengers to leave the car to ensure safety. Along with people at the scene, the driver used available tools to put out the fire but failed.


After receiving the report, the Traffic Police and Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Tay Ninh Province Police dispatched 2 specialized fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire and regulate traffic.
After about 30 minutes, the fire was completely controlled.
The fire caused the passenger bus to be burned down, some of the passenger baggage was damaged; all 10 passengers were promptly evacuated safely.
