On the morning of May 11, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Khe commune (Gia Lai) - confirmed that a passenger car had just fallen into a ravine on National Highway 19, passing through An Khe pass, killing 1 person and injuring 2 others.
Initial information, at about 10:55 PM on May 10th, at km 61+100 National Highway 19, passing through Thuong Son village, a truck with license plate 77H-003. xx driven by Mr. N.T. Y (born 1998, residing in An Khe ward, Gia Lai) suddenly crashed into the rear of a passenger car with license plate 50H-059. xx driven by Mr. P.T. T (born 1998, residing in Ia Lop commune, Dak Lak province) traveling in the same direction in front, causing the passenger car to plunge into a roadside abyss.

At the time of the accident, there were 12 people on the passenger car, including the driver and passengers. As a result, Ms. P.T. N (born 1988, residing in Ea Wer commune, Dak Lak province) was a passenger who died, and 2 others were injured.
Gia Lai Provincial Police and Binh Khe commune mobilized manpower, vehicles, and used cables to approach the scene and organize rescue.
Right that night, local authorities and functional forces were present at the scene to support rescue, take the victims to the emergency room and visit and encourage the spirit of the victim's family," Mr. Khanh said.

By the morning of May 11, 7 people in the car with stable health had been sent home for monitoring. 2 injured victims are being treated at Gia Lai Provincial Central General Hospital.
On the morning of May 11, leaders of Binh Khe Commune People's Committee also visited and inquired about the victims in the accident.
The cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by functional forces.
