This is the vehicle in the accident that occurred on the afternoon of April 6th in the bank area near Bau Trang lake (Hoa Thang commune, Lam Dong province), killing 4 people.
After the incident occurred, public opinion said that there were many opinions that this passenger car was too old but still circulated on the road. According to observations, with the characteristic of carrying divers daily and carrying sacks of clams caught by divers, the vehicle has many rusty locations.
According to the file, the passenger car was registered under the name of Mr. P.T. N (resident of Phan Ri Cua commune) on July 18, 2025. The car was manufactured in 2010, first registered in June 2011, with a lifespan of up to 2030, and is allowed to carry 28 people (including drivers).
According to information from functional agencies, on January 24, 2026, the vehicle came for registration at a motor vehicle registration center in Khanh Hoa province (old Ninh Thuan) but failed.
On the same day, the vehicle continued to be inspected for the 2nd time here and met the requirements, and was issued an inspection stamp. The next inspection is April 23, 2026, so by the time of the incident, the vehicle still had 18 days of inspection validity.
After the accident, from the evening of April 6 to the early morning of April 7, functional forces examined the vehicle overnight at the scene.
According to the survivor's account, before the accident, the driver shouted "brake failure", then about 1 minute later, the car plunged into the sidewalk abyss.
Functional agencies are clarifying whether or not there is a technical problem, how the vehicle is maintained and related factors to comprehensively assess the case.
Therefore, functional forces urgently examined the vehicle, recorded mechanical traces and seized many spare parts samples on the vehicle for testing, quickly drawing conclusions, as a basis for the investigating agency to carry out further procedural procedures.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported, the incident occurred at about 3:30 pm on April 6 at Km16+300 DT. 715 road, belonging to Hong Lam village, Hoa Thang commune, Lam Dong province.
At this time, the passenger car driven by driver Tran Thanh Son (born 1988, residing in Phan Ri Cua commune) carrying divers moving from Mui Ne direction to Phan Ri Cua plunged into the sidewalk abyss and overturned.
The accident killed 4 people and injured 11 others. Initial inspection results determined that the driver had no alcohol concentration and was negative for drugs.
