Quang Tri - The car swept away by floodwaters on July 26 in Tan Lap commune was found, about 50m from the scene, in a state of severe damage.

On July 30, the People's Committee of Tan Lap commune (Quang Tri province) confirmed that the authorities and local people had successfully salvaged the car swept away by the flood on July 26.

The car was discovered about 50m from the spillway connecting Tan Trung village with Con village (Tan Lap commune). The vehicle was severely damaged and was towed by the crane owner for repair.

Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on July 26, when prolonged heavy rain caused the Tan Trung - Con spillway to be deeply flooded and the water flowing rapidly, the Tan Lap commune government had set up barriers and signs prohibiting traffic.

However, four young men driving the car accidentally removed the barrier to overcome, causing the car to be swept away by floodwaters. Fortunately, all four people were able to escape safely in time thanks to the support of local people and authorities.

After the incident, the People's Committee of Tan Lap commune reminded the vehicle owner and requested him to take responsibility for the search and rescue costs. Local authorities also strengthen propaganda work, emphasizing compliance with warnings during the flood season to ensure the safety of life and property.
