According to the summary report of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province, by 5:00 p.m. on July 28, the whole province had 7,088 houses that had collapsed, buried, or been completely washed away and damaged. Of which, 418 houses collapsed, were buried or completely washed away - mainly in My Ly commune (214 houses), Nhon Mai (67 houses), Tuong Duong (51 houses)... In addition, 5,430 houses were deeply flooded, had assets floating, and were severely damaged after the water receded; 1,240 houses had their roofs blown off and damaged, of which 97 houses were damaged over 70%.

Education, health care, and agriculture suffered heavy losses with 38 schools in 18 communes damaged, many were deeply flooded, and equipment were swept away. The health sector also recorded 7 medical centers being flooded, affecting medical examination and treatment activities.
Regarding agriculture and forestry, nearly 3,500 hectares of rice, more than 3,200 hectares of vegetables, 2,500 hectares of annual crops and 940 hectares of forest were damaged. More than 60,000 cattle and poultry died or were swept away; 125 barns were damaged.
The seafood industry lost more than 569 hectares of small ponds and 216 cages; while the irrigation system suffered great damage with nearly 10km of canals eroded, 10 dams damaged, and more than 17km of water pipes damaged.

Floods and rains caused 532 landslides on national and provincial highways; 305 landslides on local roads with nearly 72,000m3 of rock and soil. Many locations of the road were cut off, 14 bridges were damaged, and 6 suspension bridges were washed away. Along with that, 172 power poles were broken, 2 transformer stations were on fire, dozens of kilometers of conductors were damaged, and more than 2,600 damaged electric meters had to be replaced.
The communication system was also interrupted with 151 cables broken, 5 cables damaged, and 1 loudspeaker cluster stopped working.
The flood caused 4 deaths. Initial estimates show that the total damage in the province is up to VND3,390 billion, of which the heaviest are houses, people's assets VND1,471 billion) and traffic infrastructure VND1,390 billion).
Currently, localities are mobilizing all forces to overcome the consequences, restore people's lives and production after natural disasters.
