On December 28, the Traffic Police Department - Quang Tri Provincial Police confirmed that they are coordinating with units to investigate and clarify a serious traffic accident that occurred in Con Tien commune.
According to initial information, at about 11 am on the same day, a truck carrying acacia trees with license plate 74C-109.11 was traveling on DT575 route in the direction from Ho Chi Minh road to National Highway 1A. When arriving at the intersection between DT575 and DT576, in the area of the old Gio An commune (now Con Tien commune), this vehicle collided with a motorbike.
After the collision, the truck continued to rush into roadside eateries. The accident killed 1 child residing in Kinh Mon village, Ben Hai commune, Quang Tri province on the spot, and injured 3 others.
According to Con Tien Commune People's Committee, the DT575 - DT576 intersection area, near Gio An market, has a high traffic density, posing a high risk of traffic accidents. Local authorities have repeatedly proposed installing traffic light systems here, but have not yet implemented them.
