At around 10:00 a.m. on February 7, on National Highway 1, through Cam Tan Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province, a refrigerated truck with a Thanh Hoa license plate, traveling in the South-North direction, suddenly crashed into a hard median strip.
After the strong collision, the truck overturned and blocked the road. The front of the truck separated from the bed and was thrown close to the curb.
Immediately afterwards, passersby approached the truck to assist the victim and reported it to the authorities.
At the scene, the front of the refrigerated truck was crushed, and two people on the truck were trapped in the front of the truck. The truck driver suffered multiple injuries, and one victim, a busboy, was confirmed dead on the spot.
Authorities quickly provided technical support to remove the injured driver from the cabin and transfer him to the emergency room.
Traffic on National Highway 1 in the North-South direction was completely jammed. The authorities had to request vehicles not to travel on National Highway 1 (Km 1478+700) in the North-South direction when passing through Khanh Hoa province; At the same time, they instructed vehicles to travel on the expressway according to the access road at Cam Duc town - Cam Lam for the South-North direction and at the Suoi Cat - Cam Lam expressway access road for the North-South direction when passing through Khanh Hoa province.
Authorities are conducting investigations to clarify the cause of the accident.
