On May 15, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province worked with the Department of War (Ministry of Defense) and the Vietnam Railway Administration, to consider and agree on the plan to adjust the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway line according to the orientation of the railway network of Unit area in Ho Chi Minh City.
The reason for the adjustment is that there are some sections of the route that affect and overlap with land managed by the Ministry of National Defense and affect defense units.
Previously, the final station of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway line was expected to be located in the Vung Tau Airport area. According to the adjustment proposal, the end station of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau route is expected to be moved to Cu Lao Ben Dinh area, within the approved planning corridor.
At the same time, adjust some sections of the route to minimize the impact on national defense land and existing works.

The terminal station has a total area of over 14 hectares, arranging functional areas such as: pick-up/ drop-off areas, stations, parking lots, overnight train parking areas combined with train inspection and maintenance facilities. At the same time, arrange a road about 100 m wide to access the station from 30/4 Street.
According to the Department of Construction, the above proposal is in accordance with the orientation of not investing in specialized airports in Go Gang and maintaining the existing scale and function of Vung Tau airport, which has been proposed by the Provincial People's Committee to adjust the provincial planning in the coming time. Therefore, it is recommended that the provincial People's Committee agreed on the content of adjusting the end of Vung Tau city to this area.
After discussing, Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - suggested that the parties continue to coordinate in reviewing and perfecting the plan to ensure synchronous planning, investment efficiency and less negative impacts to the community.
"When implemented, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway project will connect with the railway system nationwide, thereby hoping to strengthen transport infrastructure connectivity, supporting the socio-economic development of the region," said Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway line has a total length of 84 km, passing through the regions and ending at the station in Vung Tau. The railway line is expected to include 5 main stations, directly connecting to major seaports and logistics centers in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area. The Ministry of Construction has just assigned Project Management Board 6 to prepare a pre-feasibility study report.
