Accordingly, in March 2023, on Hai Tien beach (in the old Hang Hoa, Thanh Hoa province), 5 giant arms appeared, each arm nearly 5m high (from the nail base to the finger), each arm several hundred meters apart.
At the time of construction, many people expressed their disagreement because this project not only occupied the beach area but also poses a potential danger to tourists when swimming, and was unfortunately hit by waves against the concrete pillar in the middle of the beach.
According to the old Hoang Hoa People's Committee, the 5 branches belong to the project to renovate and upgrade the coastal road through Hoang Tien and Hoang Thanh communes, with a total cost of more than 10 billion VND. The 5-manpower item alone cost about 300 million VND from the district budget. The project is expected to be a guard hut for rescue workers to observe and handle when bad situations occur.
However, after more than 2 years of use, the staircase system and the roof on the hand has been removed. In particular, the recent storm No. 5 caused 4/5 of the arms to be tilted, at risk of collapsing.
According to the representative of the leaders of Hoang Thanh and Hoang Tien communes, the locality is considering the option of craning and relocating the project. We also thought about the option of sucking sandals to keep our arms up straight, but it was not feasible because the following storms could continue to lift our arms. Therefore, crop and relocation are priority options" - said the leader of Hoang Thanh commune.
