On July 2nd, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police held a meeting to evaluate the results of implementing two topics on ensuring traffic safety and urban order in Nha Trang wards from May to the end of June 2026.
According to the Traffic Police Department, for the thematic inspection and handling of violating cyclos, functional forces have reviewed and compiled a list of 651 owners of cyclos and self-made three-wheeled vehicles.
In addition to propaganda work to more than 500 members of Nha Trang Cyclo Tourism Union and about 750 drivers, 140 vehicle owners voluntarily removed the electric motor to bring the vehicle back to its correct state as regulated.
Functional forces made records and fined 226 violations, mainly for parking on the road causing traffic obstruction and entering prohibited roads.
More than 90% of cyclo drivers have complied with regulations on using cyclo kicks, preventing traffic accidents related to this type of vehicle during the thematic implementation period.
Through inspection of more than 720 cases of foreigners driving vehicles, functional forces discovered and administratively fined 210 violations, collecting more than 610 million VND for the state budget.
The main violations include not wearing a helmet, not having a suitable driver's license, going against traffic flow and handing over vehicles to people who are not qualified to drive.
Colonel Le Quang Dung - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police directed units to continue to proactively advise local authorities to improve management mechanisms, thoroughly handle violations of urban order, contributing to maintaining the image of a civilized and safe tourist city.
