According to information from the People's Committee of Mai Son commune, the sinkhole is located in the yard of Mr. Le Van Sinh's house, more than 35m2 wide, an estimated depth of over 10m, and the pit is filled with water.
According to Mr. Sinh, there were no signs of abnormality in this area before. However, in recent days, due to prolonged rain, the soil has shown signs of decreasing and cracks have appeared.
In the early morning of July 25, a large area suddenly collapsed, eating deep into the concrete yard and spreading to the fence, the edge of the residential road.
Upon receiving the report, the Mai Son commune government coordinated with functional forces to inspect the scene, stretch ropes, and put up warning signs to ensure safety for vehicles and people passing through this area.
Local authorities also propagate and instruct households to raise vigilance and monitor the development of the sinkhole. If the situation continues to spread, people and property will be evacuated to a safe place.
