On June 5, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hue City Police said that it had mobilized dozens of officers, soldiers and specialized vehicles to successfully rescue 4 people trapped in floodwaters in A Luoi district.
At around 11pm on June 4, the unit received a report that 4 people were trapped in the A A stream (Paring Can Sam village, Hong Ha commune, A Luoi district) due to heavy rain causing the water to suddenly rise. The victims stood in clusters on the dump truck stuck in the floodwaters.
That same night, nearly 20 officers and soldiers with specialized equipment were mobilized to the scene to coordinate with Hong Ha Commune Police and local people to deploy a rescue plan. It was dark, with heavy rain and strong water flow, making access difficult.
At about 1:45 a.m. on June 5, the authorities arrived at the victim's location, equipped him with life jackets, stretched a safety rope and took each person across the stream to get out. After nearly 2 hours of struggling with the water, all 4 victims were brought safely to shore.
The identities of the victims include: Mr. Ho Van Then (born in 1975), Ho Trieu Ph. (born in 2009), Vuong Quoc Tr. and Le Dinh Q. (both born in 2010, residing in Hong Ha commune, A Luoi district). The victims' health has stabilized after receiving support.
