Hoa Binh - During a heavy rain night, a 17-year-old female student in Vinh Tien commune, Kim Boi district was unfortunately swept away and died by floodwaters while riding a motorbike through the culvert of Reo stream.

According to initial information, at around 11:30 p.m. on June 3, T.T.T.N (born in 2008, residing in Suoi Reo village, Vinh Tien commune) and Mr. B.C.T.V (born in 1991, residing in Ranh hamlet, Dong Bac commune) were driving a motorbike through the overflow area in Suoi Reo village.

At this time, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain in the afternoon, floodwater from upstream poured in strongly, causing the stream to flow rapidly and rise.

While trying to cross the culvert, the car was suddenly swept away. Mr. V. was lucky to escape thanks to being able to stick to the shore, while N. was swept away by floodwaters and went missing in the rushing water.

Immediately after receiving the report, the People's Committee of Vinh Tien commune urgently mobilized nearly 100 people, including the commune police, militia, grassroots security teams and local people to divide into many search teams along the stream. The checkpoints were established in Dong Ngoai, Vo Coi, Dam Rung, Suoi Reo.
