Workers stick to the construction site
In the early days of the new year 2026, when many families gather together, at the Bao Ninh 1 social housing project (Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province), the working atmosphere is still urgent. At the construction site, groups of workers are working diligently, the sound of machinery harmonizes with the steady pace of labor as a commitment to the project progress.
Mr. Tran Xuan Thuy, 48 years old, from Thanh Linh commune, Nghe An province, has a wife and 2 children, is one of the workers who has been attached to the construction site for many years. New Year's Day is originally a holiday, but this year he and his colleagues chose to stay and work during holidays.
Although I miss my wife and children very much, the workload is urgent. We encourage each other to try to work extra to ensure progress, and at the same time have more income," Mr. Thuy shared.
According to Mr. Thuy, what makes workers feel secure in sticking to the construction site is the timely care and encouragement from the investor and the project management board. During holidays, workers are supported with meal allowances and overtime allowances, creating more motivation to maintain the construction pace.
Mr. Duong Tinh, representative of the Management Board of Bao Ninh 1 social housing project, said that during the New Year holiday of 2026, the management board requires 100% of the personnel of teams and contractors to maintain continuous construction. The goal is to maintain the general progress and continue to exceed the plan committed to customers.
Currently, the crude part of the project has reached about 80% of the workload. The Management Board set a goal to build the roof before the Lunar New Year and is expected to hand over the house in the fourth quarter of 2026.
We are urging contractors to work overtime and increase shifts. The current progress has exceeded the initial commitment and will continue to be maintained," Mr. Duong Tinh affirmed.
Not only stopping at requesting progress, the investor also proactively implements policies to support workers during the holidays. Full meals and reasonable overtime allowances are recognition of workers' working spirit, helping them feel secure in sticking with the construction site in this special time.
Keep progress
The working atmosphere at the beginning of the year also spread on the construction site of component project 1 - Coastal Road, where dozens of officials and workers are taking advantage of each hour to keep up with the schedule.
At the Nam Roon - Quang Phuc package, after a period of difficulties in site clearance, contractors quickly restarted construction right from the first day of 2026.
Mr. Truong The Doan, representative of Quang Binh General Construction Joint Stock Company II, said that even on the first day of the new year, the business still encourages workers to go to the construction site. "Progress is a mandatory requirement, but we always go hand in hand with supporting workers to feel secure in their work," Mr. Doan said.
Currently, the project has basically completed the bridge, culvert and drainage works on the route. The foundation and road surface are being constructed within the area where the site has been handed over. Favorable weather at the beginning of the year is a condition for units to accelerate and compensate for the previous delay.
Mr. Le Thuan Nam, an official of Transport Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company II, said that the investor and the consulting unit have mobilized many machinery and equipment and a team of workers to work throughout the New Year holiday. "The timely implementation of support regimes helps workers feel secure and not pressured when having to be away from their families during holidays," Mr. Nam shared.
