From January 1, 2025, the regulation on deducting points and restoring points on the Driver's License officially takes effect. Each license is managed with 12 points, updated on the road traffic order and safety database system (ATGT).
According to the Traffic Police Department (Cao Bang Provincial Police), in the first 8 months of the year, there were 1,006 cases of driver's license points being deducted. Violations mainly come from people driving in the wrong direction, speeding and controlling vehicles after consuming alcohol...
For each traffic safety violation, the driver will have points deducted depending on the level and nature of the behavior. The information of the deduction will be updated immediately after the penalty decision comes into effect and the violator will be notified directly. If within 12 months from the most recent violation, the driver's license is not deducted additional points, the driver will be entitled to a full recovery of 12 points.
The new regulation is both deterrent and educational, reminding people to comply with traffic laws. People whose points have not been fully deducted can continue to drive vehicles, without disrupting their lives and production and business.
