Ca Mau Provincial Police announced at the end of August that from August 15 to August 21, 2023, 536 violations were detected, including 7 cars and 529 motorbikes.
The provincial police have decided to fine 15 violators, with a total fine of nearly 61 million VND, and revoke 7 driving licenses of various types.
Through monitoring by the surveillance camera system, the main violations were speeding in 230 cases (accounting for 42%); failure to comply with traffic light signals in 309 cases (accounting for 58%).
The Provincial Traffic Police Department will continue to review and count cases that have received notices but have not yet come to handle; transfer images and videos of violations to the District Police for handling, and at the same time assign officers to directly coordinate with the Commune, Ward and Town Police to invite violators to the Traffic Police Department for handling according to the provisions of law.
In addition, units and police of districts and Ca Mau city directed professional teams, police of communes, wards and towns in the province to promote propaganda work on recording images and administrative sanctions through the surveillance camera system, thereby raising awareness of law compliance of traffic participants, minimizing violations.
Fines for speeding on motorbikes and mopeds
A fine of VND 300,000 to VND 400,000 shall be imposed on drivers exceeding the prescribed speed limit by 5 km/h to less than 10 km/h (Point c, Clause 2, Article 6, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP (amended at Point k, Clause 34, Article 2, Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).
Fine from VND 800,000 to VND 1,000,000 for drivers exceeding the prescribed speed by 10 km/h to 20 km/h (Point a, Clause 4, Article 6, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP (amended at Point g, Clause 34, Article 2, Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).
Fine from 4,000,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND for drivers driving over the prescribed speed limit by more than 20 km/h (Point a, Clause 7, Article 6, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 02 to 04 months (Point c, Clause 10, Article 6, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
Fines for speeding cars :
Fine from 800,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND for drivers exceeding the prescribed speed from 05 km/h to under 10 km/h (Point a, Clause 3, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
A fine of VND 4,000,000 to VND 6,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers exceeding the prescribed speed limit by 10 km/h to 20 km/h (Point i, Clause 5, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, amended at Point d, Clause 34, Article 2, Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).
In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 01 to 03 months (Point b Clause 11 Article 5 Decree 100/2019/ND-CP);
Fine from 6,000,000 VND to 8,000,000 VND for drivers exceeding the prescribed speed by more than 20 km/h to 35 km/h (Point a, Clause 6, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 02 to 04 months (Point c, Clause 11, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
Fine from 10,000,000 VND to 12,000,000 VND for drivers driving at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit by more than 35 km/h (Point c Clause 7 Article 5 Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 02 to 04 months (Point c, Clause 11, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
