The meeting of the BMW car enthusiast community in Ho Chi Minh City attracted attention when gathering dozens of car models from many different lines, from original cars to personalized versions. Among them, the appearance of the high-performance sedan BMW M3 G80 generation received much attention from car enthusiasts.
The BMW M3 G80 participating in the event was once displayed in a sports car showroom in Ho Chi Minh City for a long time. Although it was produced in 2021, the car has only rolled about 350 km. The re-apparition of this model at the meeting has attracted the car-playing community's interest, but there is currently no official information about the ownership status of the car.
The BMW M3 G80 is equipped with a 6-cylinder in-line gasoline engine, 3.0-liter capacity, twin-turbocharged. This engine block produces a maximum power of 473 horsepower and a maximum torque of 550 Nm, suitable for the high performance orientation of the BMW M line.
A notable point on the M3 G80 appearing at the event is the 6-speed manual transmission configuration, combined with rear-wheel drive. In the context that many modern sports cars prioritize automatic transmissions, manual transmission options are still highly appreciated by a part of car enthusiasts thanks to bringing a direct driving feeling and clearer interaction between the driver and the car.
Compared to the 8-speed automatic transmission version, the manual transmission version weighs about 23 kg lighter, contributing to improving operating performance. When accompanied by the M Driver's Package, the manual transmission BMW M3 G80 can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in about 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km/h.
In the increasingly strong trend of electrification and automation of the automotive industry, the appearance of the BMW M3 G80 manual transmission at community events is considered a noteworthy highlight, reflecting the interest of Vietnamese car enthusiasts in cars that value traditional driving experience and pure performance.
