This model used to have a license plate in Soc Trang before the area was merged into the administrative boundary with Can Tho city. Unlike many other i8s that are often painted or bodykit by their owners, this car still retains its original appearance, enhancing the inherent elegance and modernity of the German sports hybrid car line.
In Vietnam, BMW i8 was once a symbol of the trend of environmentally friendly sports cars, combining a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, for a total capacity of 362 horsepower, maximum torque of 570 Nm. The 6-speed automatic transmission helps the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 250 km/h. When run entirely on electricity, the i8 can travel a distance of about 35 km with a maximum speed of 135 km/h.
At the time of its launch in Vietnam, the selling price of BMW i8 was around 8 billion VND. However, this model is now past its peak, market prices fluctuate depending on the battery condition, the turbocharging system and the distance used. However, i8 is still considered a symbol of hybrid technology in the transition period between traditional gasoline vehicles and modern electric vehicles.
