Images of a pair of sports cars in Japanese Domestic Market style (JDM - a term used to refer to models manufactured specifically for the Japanese market or imbued with Japanese high-performance car culture) recently attracted the attention of the car-loving community in Ho Chi Minh City.
The two car models appearing in the collection include Honda Civic Type R and Nissan GT-R R35. These are both prominent names in the JDM car enthusiast community thanks to their powerful performance and symbolic value in Japanese sports car culture.
In which, the Nissan GT-R R35 is considered the successor to the legendary Skyline GT-R line, although it no longer uses the name Skyline. The car has a 2+2 seat configuration, front-mounted engine and ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel drive system.
This model is developed on the PM platform - an upgraded version from the FM platform previously used for Skyline and Nissan Z. The body combines steel, aluminum and carbon fiber to optimize torsional stiffness and reduce weight.
GT-R R35 uses a twin-turbo VR38DETT engine, comes with a dual-clutch gearbox and four-wheel drive system. This is also one of the first commercial models to apply a launch control system and independent rear drive configuration. After about 7 years of development, the model was officially launched globally at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show and manufactured at the Tochigi factory, Japan.
Meanwhile, the Honda Civic Type R in the article owns a Racing Blue Pearl blue exterior - a familiar color on many high-performance Honda models. The interior of the car uses the characteristic red tone of the Type R version.
In addition to the Racing Blue Pearl color, the Civic Type R is also distributed with many other exterior options to emphasize the sporty style of this high-performance hatchback model.
In terms of operation, the new generation Honda Civic Type R is considered the most powerful Civic model ever produced commercially by Honda. The car uses a 2.0L I4 K20C1 turbocharged engine combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, producing a maximum power of 315 horsepower and a maximum torque of 420 Nm.
