On May 13, news from Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) said that they are strengthening inspections and strictly handling violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents on highways.
During patrols on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway, functional forces discovered a truck with license plate 89C-067.57 driven by driver L.N. N (born 1987, residing in Ly Thuong Kiet commune, Yen My district, former Hung Yen province) with many violations.
Specifically, the driver arbitrarily installed additional lights in front of the vehicle. For this violation, the driver was fined 1.5 million VND and had 2 points of the driver's license deducted according to Point a, Clause 3, Article 13 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
Through inspection, functional forces determined that the driver did not have a driver's license. This act was fined 19 million VND according to the provisions of point a, clause 9, Article 18 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP. At the same time, the vehicle was temporarily seized for up to 7 days.
The total fine for the driver is 20.5 million VND.
In addition, the vehicle owner, H.T Trading and Transportation Co., Ltd., located in Tan Minh commune, Yen My district, former Hung Yen province, was also fined 58 million VND for handing over the vehicle to a person who did not meet the conditions to drive the vehicle to participate in traffic as prescribed in point i, clause 14, Article 32 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
Thus, the total fine for drivers and vehicle owners is 78.5 million VND.
In addition, functional forces revoked the right to use the vehicle's badge for a period of 2 months and temporarily seized the vehicle for 7 days.
Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 recommends that people absolutely comply with regulations when participating in traffic on highways, do not arbitrarily install additional equipment outside the technical system of vehicles to avoid the risk of electrical short circuits, fires, and traffic unsafety.
According to functional forces, the surveillance camera system on the expressway operates 24/24 hours and all violations will be recorded and handled according to regulations.
