BYD is one of China's leading automobile and electrical equipment manufacturers. The company is famous for pioneering electric vehicle technology.
Based on the design images, this car line is identified as the Seal 06 model introduced in the Chinese market at the end of May. Although the registration of the car design copyright is not a decisive factor in whether the product will be launched in Vietnam, however, this possibility cannot be ruled out because BYD's electric cars are currently having difficulty reaching users.
In addition, Seal 06 is considered one of the brand's key products in China, so it is understandable to push it to other markets. It is likely that Seal 06 will be the next model BYD brings to Vietnam after Seal, Dolphin and Atto3 .
Although the name is quite similar to the Seal model launched in Vietnam, the Seal 06 is not a pure electric car but a PHEV (plug-in hybrid). Designed with dimensions of 4,830mm x 1,875mm x 1,495mm (length x width x height), this model belongs to the D-class sedan segment, competing directly with rivals such as the Mazda6 and Toyota Camry.
The interior of the Seal 06 is minimalist with few buttons. Behind the steering wheel is an 8.8-inch LCD cluster with a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment screen - a characteristic of BYD's design.
The premium version of BYD Seal 06 includes six airbags, automatic air conditioning, one-touch driver window control. Panoramic sunroof with electronic sunshade, DiPilot L2 driving assistance; front passenger seat is electrically adjustable, with heating and ventilation.
The hybrid powertrain on the Seal 06 includes a 1.5L gasoline engine with a capacity of 99 horsepower, combined with an electric motor (capacity from 161-215 horsepower depending on the version). According to the manufacturer's specifications, the highest-end version is equipped with a 15.9 kWh battery, providing an operating range of up to 120 km in pure electric mode. When filling the 65-liter fuel tank, the car can travel up to 2,100 km.
BYD has just launched in the Vietnamese market in mid-July but has already introduced 3 pure electric car models (including Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal).
