Abandoning the "3 red then go" mindset
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Van Tuan (Viet Tri ward) said that currently, there are many cameras for remote fines installed on roads and intersections in the area. This makes traffic participants more cautious when driving vehicles.
According to Mr. Tuan, in the past, many people had a subjective mentality when participating in traffic, even spreading the concept "2 green leaves, 3 red leaves".
However, since the camera remote fine system was deployed, many people have changed their habits, strictly complying with traffic lights and waiting for the red light to end before continuing to move.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, also residing in Viet Tri ward, said that he himself had been fined remotely for the offense of not fastening the seat belt. Previously, he often ignored this regulation when driving.
Since being fined for traffic violations, every time I get on the car, I fasten my seatbelt. At first, I wasn't used to it, so I was a little uncomfortable, but then I realized that this helps ensure more safety when participating in traffic," Mr. Khanh shared.
Mr. Khanh said that knowing the roads with surveillance cameras also makes drivers more careful, not arbitrarily using their hands to use phones while driving, contributing to limiting the risk of traffic unsafety.
The number speaks
According to information from the Phu Tho Provincial Portal, in the second half of February 2026 alone, functional forces discovered over 2,000 cases of traffic order and safety violations through the camera system. The main violations include speeding, not fastening seat belts and not complying with traffic signals.
According to the assessment of functional forces, after the security and order surveillance camera system and handling of violations of traffic order and safety were put into operation, the situation of violations at many key intersections has decreased significantly compared to before.
Not only serving the work of ensuring traffic order and safety, the camera system also effectively supports the task of maintaining security and order. Image data from cameras becomes an important source of data, helping functional forces quickly trace and verify cases, serving the work of preventing and combating crimes.
Sharing on the Phu Tho Information Portal, Major Nguyen Viet Hung - Deputy Head of the Propaganda, Investigation, Accident Resolution and Traffic Violation Handling Team, Traffic Police Department, Phu Tho Provincial Police - said that the unit recommends that people seriously comply with the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; comply with the system of traffic signs, traffic lights, road markings; drive vehicles in the correct lane and lane.
People should also proactively install the VNeTraffic application to facilitate the search for violation information, and at the same time reflect violations of traffic order and safety to functional agencies quickly and accurately," Major Nguyen Viet Hung said.
The camera system for monitoring security and order and handling violations of order and traffic safety in Phu Tho is synchronously invested with a scale of 635 cameras, installed at 202 key locations in the area of Viet Tri city (old) and Hung Temple historical relic area.
The system will be officially put into operation from 11:00 AM on February 16, 2026. Cameras will be installed on many key routes, important traffic junctions, densely populated areas and locations where major political and cultural events of the province regularly take place, especially the Hung Temple historical relic area.
The entire system is directly connected to the Provincial Police Command Information Center through high-speed fiber optic infrastructure, ensuring real-time, continuous image transmission 24/24 hours. The devices used are high-resolution IP cameras, providing clear images and capable of stable operation in many weather conditions.
