The Gumball 3000 World Supercar Journey officially started in Ho Chi Minh City at noon on September 15. This event brings together more than 100 super sports cars, luxury cars and luxury SUVs from all over the world.
Besides the brightest "stars" of the Gumball 3000 journey in 2024 such as Koenigsegg Regera, Pagani Huayra BC Roadster, Porsche Carrera GT, new generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS... there is also a super luxury car Mercedes-Maybach S450 with Vietnamese license plate.
This car is driven by an overseas Vietnamese member and the other member is of Vietnamese origin. Although it is not a supercar, sports car or megacar, this super luxury Mercedes-Maybach S450 has attracted the attention of the car enthusiast community in Vietnam when it competes with famous supercars in the world.
The Mercedes Maybach S450 with Vietnamese license plate participating in the Gumball 3000 supercar journey is a slight upgrade of the old generation. The car is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that has been tuned to reach a maximum capacity of 367 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque combined with a 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.
Thanks to its high power and 4Matic 4-wheel drive system, the Mercedes Maybach S450 easily accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, with a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
Today (September 16), the supercar convoy is in Cambodia. After leaving Cambodia, the convoy will travel to Bangkok, Krabi (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and end the journey in Singapore on September 21, 2024.
