At noon on September 15, the flag-raising ceremony for the world's largest supercar journey, Gumball 3000, officially took place.
The teams set off in a predetermined order based on each team's donation to the Gumball Foundation.
Accordingly, car number 26 (Ferrari 296 GTB) of the On The Run team started first. It was followed by car number 53 (Porsche GT3 RS) in second place, car number 21 (McLaren 765LT Spider) in third place, car number 42 (Ferrari 812 Superfast) in fourth place, car number 100 (Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT) in fifth place.
The Gumball 3000 Foundation was founded in 2013 to support disadvantaged youth through educational, recreational and infrastructure projects around the world.
To support natural disaster relief in the northern provinces, on September 14, Gumball 3000 members raised approximately $25,000. The campaign to support Vietnam will continue throughout the journey, with the donation link widely shared on Gumball 3000’s social media platforms and shared by many influential figures.
The final official donation amount will be announced after September 23 and given to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of District 1 (HCMC).
According to the schedule, the Gumball 3000 supercar convoy will stop at Cu Chi tunnels for sightseeing and lunch. After that, the group will continue to Moc Bai border gate, Tay Ninh province, to complete procedures to go to neighboring Cambodia.
After that, the group will continue to move to Thailand, Malaysia and end the journey on September 21 in Singapore.
