Vinh Phuc Provincial Police have just announced 1,200 vehicles that have been fined in the area. The above vehicles need to contact the police to pay the fine.

From December 15, 2024 to December 31, 2024, through the traffic surveillance camera system, Vinh Yen City Police detected and imposed fines on violations of the Traffic Safety Law.

The police requested the vehicle owner to go to the Traffic Police Team, Vinh Yen City Police to work and pay the fine according to regulations.

Below is a list of violations:

According to the list provided by Vinh Phuc Police, the vehicles that were fined in Vinh Phuc were mainly for running red lights and speeding.

Red light violation

According to regulations before January 1, 2025, the administrative penalty for red light violations by cars will apply the provisions of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).

Accordingly, drivers who run red lights will be fined from 4,000,000 to 6,000,000 VND. In addition to the fine, the driver who commits the violation will also be subject to an additional penalty of having his/her driving license revoked for 1 to 3 months. In case of failure to comply with traffic lights and causing an accident, the driver's license will be revoked for 2 to 4 months.

According to Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP, effective from January 1, 2025, drivers of cars, four-wheeled motor vehicles or similar vehicles who do not comply with traffic light signals will be fined from VND18-20 million. Those who commit this act will have their driving license deducted 4 points.

Fines for speeding cars

According to regulations before January 1, 2025, a fine of VND 800,000 to VND 1,000,000 will be imposed on drivers who exceed the prescribed speed limit by 5 km/h to less than 10 km/h (Point a, Clause 3, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

A fine of VND 4,000,000 to VND 6,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers exceeding the prescribed speed limit by 10 km/h to 20 km/h (Point i, Clause 5, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, amended at Point d, Clause 34, Article 2, Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).

In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 01 to 03 months (Point b Clause 11 Article 5 Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

Fine from 6,000,000 VND to 8,000,000 VND for drivers exceeding the prescribed speed by more than 20 km/h to 35 km/h (Point a, Clause 6, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 2 to 4 months (Point c, Clause 11, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

Fine from 10,000,000 VND to 12,000,000 VND for drivers driving at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit by more than 35 km/h (Point c, Clause 7, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 2 to 4 months (Point c, Clause 11, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

People should note that speeding fines will increase from January 1, 2025 according to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.

Article 6 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP stipulates the fine for speeding cars in 2025 as follows: Fine for speeding cars from 05 km/h to under 10 km/h: Fine from 800,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND.

Penalty for driving a car over the speed limit from 10 km/h to 20 km/h: Fine from 4,000,000 VND to 6,000,000 VND; at the same time, the violator will have 02 driving license points deducted.

Penalty for driving a car at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit from 20 km/h to 35 km/h: Fine from 6,000,000 VND to 8,000,000 VND; at the same time, the violator will have 04 driving license points deducted.

Penalty for driving a car over the speed limit of 35 km/h: Fine from 12,000,000 VND to 14,000,000 VND; at the same time, the violator will have 06 driving license points deducted.

In addition, in case a driver drives at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit and causes a traffic accident, he/she will be fined from 20,000,000 VND to 22,000,000 VND and have 10 points deducted from his/her driving license.

People should note that when coming to pay the fine, they need to prepare the following documents:

For cars: Vehicle registration, Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection, Driving license of the violator, Citizen identification card of the violator (photocopy 01 copy of each type of document).
