Fines for running a red light with a car
According to Article 5, Clause 5 of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree No. 123/2021/ND-CP), the driver of a car who commits the error of running a red light will be subject to administrative fines from 4,000,000 to 6,000,000 VND. In addition to the fine, the person in charge of the vehicle who commits the violation will also be subject to an additional form of punishment, which is to have their driving license revoked for 01 - 03 months (Clause 11, Point b, Article 5). In the case of not following the traffic signal instructions and causing an accident, the person in charge of the vehicle will have their driving license revoked for 2 - 4 months.
Fines for speeding with a car:
Fines from 800,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND for the person in charge of the vehicle who exceeds the speed limit by 5 km/h to less than 10 km/h (Point a, Clause 3, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
Fines from 4,000,000 VND to 6,000,000 VND for the person in charge of the vehicle who exceeds the speed limit by 10 km/h to 20 km/h (Point i, Clause 5, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, amended at Point dd, Clause 34, Article 2, Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).
In addition, the person in charge of the vehicle who commits the violation will also be subject to the revocation of their driving license for 01 to 03 months (Clause 11, Point b, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP);
Fines from 6,000,000 VND to 8,000,000 VND for the person in charge of the vehicle who exceeds the speed limit by 20 km/h to 35 km/h (Point a, Clause 6, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
In addition, the person in charge of the vehicle who commits the violation will also be subject to the revocation of their driving license for 02 to 04 months (Clause 11, Point c, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
Fines from 10,000,000 VND to 12,000,000 VND for the person in charge of the vehicle who exceeds the speed limit by more than 35 km/h (Point c, Clause 7, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
In addition, the person in charge of the vehicle who commits the violation will also be subject to the revocation of their driving license for 02 to 04 months (Clause 11, Point c, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).
